Artwork from a sports legend and local celebrities auctioned to Signature Landscapes

What’s one thing local news anchors Kristin Remington and Wendy Damonte of KTVN, sports legend Jackie Joyner-Kersee to radio heroes Bill, Connie and Trey of Alice 96.5 fm have in common? They have all donated their time to participate in the celebrity painted plate auction supporting the Komen for the Cure Foundation of Northern Nevada. Each plate is a custom one-of-a-kind piece of art and will be on permanent display at the brand new Signature Landscapes landscape campus in South Reno.

“I enjoy supporting local events and this charity means so much to the community,” says co-owner Lebo Newman. “We get an opportunity to give back and receive some really nice art in return. This is a great program.”

This isn’t the first time Signature Landscapes has participated in the charity auction. Last year Newman was high bidder on a number of great plates created by artists such as country music greats Reba McEntire and Dierks Bentley, singer Melissa Manchester and local cartoonist Brian Crane.

Signature Landscapes headlines NLA Magazine

The cover of the June 2009 Issue of the Nevada Landscape Association magazine will showcase three of the four owners of Signature Landscapes. Rick Clark, Justin Trimble and Lebo Newman are all smiles as they stand in front of their new building on 3705 Barron Way, Reno.

The article, titled Smart Sustainable Design will focus on installing Bio-Swales as an extremely cost-effective and environmentally sound method for managing water runoff in smaller commercial areas. Typically used for larger public areas such as parks and roadways, Signature Landscapes has addressed the method for bio-swale installation for many commercial applications.
When it comes out, be sure to buzz the men and let them know their hair is “Just Right” in the photo, ok?

SIGNATURE LANDSCAPES AWARDED LEGENDS CONTRACT

Signature Landscapes of Reno was awarded the landscape contract for paver installation at the new Legends at Sparks Marina. The massive project includes more than 35,000 square feet of material used for the construction of walkways, common areas and a new innovative ‘floating-boulder’ fountain concept. Completion of this phase will land well before the facility’s official ribbon-cutting ceremony on June 18th.
