Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful (KTMB), Washoe County and Waste Management are encouraging local residents to dispose of their household bulky items free of charge and municipal solid waste (MSW) at reduced rates, in an effort to reduce illegal dumping. WM will be accepting these materials at both Transfer Stations in Reno. Materials commonly associated with illegal dumping will be accepted free of charge; eligible items include: freon-free refrigerators, hot water heaters, stoves, dishwashers and washers/dryers, as well as sofas, chairs, mattresses and box springs.
Our recommendation - Bring a picnic lunch, a game of checkers and unlock some of those ideas you have for that next novel you want to write...the lines for the dump are long and you'll need something to do while you're waiting in your vehicle. Just remember, it's all for a great cause and it FREE!!!
