JDRF is dedicated to a single mission – funding research to find a cure for juvenile diabetes, which strikes children suddenly, makes them insulin dependent for life, and carries the constant threat of devastating complications including blindness, kidney failure, amputation, heart disease and stroke. The sense of urgency that drives JDRF is the result of the knowledge of what diabetes really does to people – including children. They’re not trying to solve a science problem; they’re trying to save lives and improve the lives of those who have the disease and the people who love them.
