Why the Aeration & Fertilization Combo Works

Reno, Sparks and Carson area homes should aerate twice a year in the spring and fall.
Aeration breaks down ‘thatch’
Aerating is the single most important thing you can do for a healthy lawn. Aeration promotes root growth and reduces water usage by getting oxygen and H20 into the root zone. Aerated soil will endure drought stress, fill in bare spots faster and resist insect and disease attack too.

Fertilization feeds your grass

Time is a critical element for lawn fertilization success. Apply at least five times a year beginning in early spring. When root growth becomes more active 5-6 weeks later, follow up with the next treatment high in phosphorus & potassium to increase root mass for H20 efficiency.

SPRING IS COMING... and so are the weeds!

If you begin to see even the smallest of weeds popping up, you might be too late. The professionals at Reno Lawn & Landscape take it seriously when it comes to weed prevention for your property. It's that critical time of year - and we mean timing is everything! Give us a call to see if you can benefit from our Pre-Emergent weed control treatments today.
The old adage “A good offense is the best defense” is true when it comes to keeping your yard weed free this summer
Did you know a single tumbleweed (Russian thistle) may be capable of dropping 200,000 seeds in a single season? Our exclusive PRE-EMERGENT weed program stops weeds before they start. Treatment is applied before weeds emerge since it works by preventing weed seeds from germinating in the first place.

Our Pre-emergent weed programs start as early as February to be most effective. For a free pre-emergent consultation and $39 off your seasonal control, use the coupon on the new COUPON PAGE for a lush, beautiful weed-free landscape.

Take a walk! ...and get to know your yard

Different areas of your yard are exposed to varying levels of sun, shade and wind. Shaded and sheltered areas are likely to require less water than open areas in full sun.

For best results, take time to walk around your yard and make a water use inventory. Look for tell-tale signs of over watering such as puddles, mud or the growth of moss or fungus. Also note areas that are dry. During your monthly inspections, look to see how water is being used on sloped or graded areas.
Water requires more time to soak in on a slope, so plan for more frequent and shorter watering intervals.

For example, if you water a flat area twice a week for 15 minutes, a slope with similar sun exposure may require three times a week for 10 minutes. Make notes if you think adjustments should be made.

We'll be glad to help with your irrigation timer if necessary. See the coupon on this page for a sweet discount on our irrigation services - it just might help!
